India’s DGCA approves Star Air’s new route from Gondia to Indore, enhancing air connectivity in central India.

India’s aviation authority, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), has authorized Star Air, a regional airline based in Bengaluru, to initiate a new flight route linking Gondia in Maharashtra to Indore in Madhya Pradesh. This approval signifies a pivotal advancement in expanding regional air travel in central India, with the launch timing contingent upon the availability of aircraft, as stated by an official from the Airports Authority of India (AAI).

Presently, IndiGo is the sole operator at Gondia’s Birsi Airport with flights to Hyderabad. The introduction of Star Air’s new route will not only broaden the travel choices available from this tribal district but also establish an essential connection to Indore, a burgeoning commercial center, thus enhancing its accessibility for both business and leisure purposes.

As Star Air prepares for the availability of their aircraft, this upcoming service is anticipated to catalyze economic growth and bolster both intra-state and inter-state travel. This initiative is part of a larger effort to upgrade aviation facilities and expand air travel connectivity in India’s secondary and tertiary cities.
